Marriage and... well... any long-term relationship is really a great artistic work-in-progress. You know it is something great, the colors contrast in just the right way, there is some special image hidden inside (but you can't quite make it out), and no matter how many times you study it, you always manage to find something new.
The days when my fiancee goes on business trips I often think about our relationship, who we are becoming as a couple and what the future holds. Each time I think about how our future family may end-up, what I will be like in five, ten or even thirty years. What my partner will be like in just as much time.
After thinking and imaging, I always take comfort in knowing that everything is still being worked out. Each day we spend together is another brush of color, and another chance to re-imagine who we are together.
